Supporting Charities through Fundraising
Fundraising is a powerful way to make a positive impact on the community, supporting charities that work tirelessly to improve lives and create meaningful change. It’s not just about raising money; it’s about raising awareness and showing support for causes that matter. That’s why we’re so proud that our residents are actively involved in taking on challenges to support these charities. By participating in fundraising events and challenges, they’re not only contributing to important causes, but they’re also developing a sense of accomplishment, teamwork, and connection with others. It’s a wonderful way to give back and make a difference, while also bringing our community together for a shared goal.
Towards the end of 2024 the residents raised over £1,100 for Children in Need. They undertook the incredible challenge of The 3 Peaks Challenge. This involved the residents hiking up Cherhill White Horse, Skirrid Fawr (Wales) and Morgans Hill. A huge well done to everyone involved!
Our Own Ann Brenner also took part in the Cancer Research UK, 5k Race For Life event. The charity is close to Ann’s heart as her mother sadly passed away from cancer a few years ago. Ann’s dedication of training, fundraising and partaking in the event was phenomenal, and we are so proud of the £500+ raised.
Our MacMillan Cancer coffee and cake mornings are also a monthly highlight. Everyone gets involved with the baking and preparing. All of our homes come together for the event, and we invite friends, family and the community to join us. If you would like to attend our next coffee morning, please contact steph@cockleburyfarmhouse.co.uk.
